Discount Children a No-No.
A few weeks ago Taobao.com, a chinese online store aggregator feature a certain ad.
Looks innocent enough right? baby clothes? NOPE the auction was for the actual baby.
bidding started at 1 Yuan. (about 15 cents) and included shipping.
The advert came with specs like you would find on a second hand car ad. Some of the info. included the father has good health and a college eduction and the mother had fair skin and big eyes.
It finished with 'sincere buyers could meet the girl in person'.
After the issue exploded, Taobao located the page and shut down the guys account.
Oh and if your wondering...yes some people answered the ad. Notably a doctor from the Anhui province contacted the guy showing interest in adopting the girl. The Mother was reluctant however (what a shocker.....) and matters did not go any further.
